He was honored as Crew Chief of the Race at the Slick 50 Nationals for tuning Pedregon to a national record and the win. At the Southern Nationals, Fedderly began working on the Castrol GIX Funny Car of John Force, alongside crew chief Austin Coil. At the Mile-High Nationals they were named Co-Crew Chiefs of the Race for tuning Force to a new track record and the finals. In his career as crew chief, Fedderly has won 27 national events and the 1983 Winston championship with driver Gary Beck.
