Description: 2 Antique 1940 Era Ruth Farrington Pastel Portraits Emile Gruppe & Self Portrait. The Emile Gruppe image measures about 20" wide and 20 1/2" tall; the Ruth Farrington image is 19 3/4" wide and 25 3/4" tall. Both are marked in pencil on the back Ruth Farrington and I absolutely guarantee these were both created by Ruth who was a student and became a close friend of Gruppe. Unframed just as you see them drawn on artist type paper. Both have rough edges that would look fine either matted or trimmed and both have a small edge tear that does not come near the artwork. See my 12 photos. Both would look quite nice in a period wood frame. Ruth was a student of Emile but I have found from researching over the years they were close friends. At one time I had a vast amount of Ruth Farrington paintings and photo albums. We acquired a collection of her artwork from Ruth's sister's estate in Hull MA. many years ago. My plan is to mail these carefully in a flat sturdy box. Ruth Farrington (1900 - 1978) Ruth Farrington was active/lived in New Hampshire.
