Description: This listing is for two attractive postcards that I estimate were issued in the 1940s and that show views of two of the restaurants in the luxurious Palace Hotel in San Francisco, California. This hotel was opened in 1909 to replace the original that was destroyed by fire in the 1906 San Francisco earthquake. It is still in business today as are these fine restaurants. The Garden Court postcard is in excellent condition while Lotta's Fountain has a crease that goes across the width about one inch above the bottom edge.
