Description: Up for sale is a beautiful 1st version Hardy St. George fly reel. This reel dates back to 1910 and it is in excellent shape. The clicker sounds smooth, the tension adjuster works as intended, and it reels tight. The red agate is smooth and free of any imperfections. The edges only have minor wear. Please note, the two-piece brass retaining screw has some small scratches. The backside is stamped "Hardy Bros. LTD Alnwick". The inside of the frame and spool are stamped with an "11". All-in-all, these early St. George reels are near impossible to find, so don’t miss out on this one! Please see all of the photos and thank you for looking.
