Description: This elegant 19th/20th century French easel is crafted with exquisite attention to detail. The easel is handmade and features a sturdy construction that is built to last with hand-wrought iron and cast iron screw and braces on cast iron castors. Made from high-quality materials, this easel is ideal for artists of all skill levels. It is perfect for displaying your artwork with sophistication in a living room, bedroom or gallery. The easel comes with a variety of features that make it stand out from the rest, including a vintage design and a oak wood frame construction. Owned by my father, Philadelphia artist and member of the Pennsylvania Fine Arts Society (PFAS), he inherited it from friend and colleague Arthur Beecher Carles, also PFAS and fellow instructor at Temple University after WWII. Both well known artists, the easel was owned before them by Hugh Breckenridge, a 19th Century impressionist. The provenance is documented on the handwritten card inside the artist paintbox of the same era as the easel.
