The oval platter has six panels around the central medallion. The alternating panels have interior scenes with people figures or of vegetation with birds, flowers, fruits and foliage. Around the border rim and divisions between the panels are pink, green and gold leaves, flowers and scrolls. One aspect that we have notice on our example are the single butterflies that are painted at the top between each of the panels. These butterflies are not often found and add a very distinguishing presentation to the platter. The underside of the oval platter is flat and not glazed. The oval platter is in superb antique condition with the exception of one tiny shallow nick at the top surface of the rim (see photographs). The palette of colors appears fresh and unworn. All the facial features on the figures are present. Some expected minor wear is seen in the gilding, none distracting. This oval platter is in exceptional condition otherwise and would definitely make a great addition to any collection of antique Rose Medallion porcelain or any collection of antique Chinese export porcelains. Measurements: The oval platter measures approximately 12.5” across in length x 10.25” across in depth. On a table, the platter measures approximately 1.75” in height at the rim. The platter weighs approximately 2 lbs, 6 ounces. All measurements are approximate, but close. Condition: We carefully examined this item. As mentioned in the description, there is one tiny shallow nick near the rim of the platter. Other than that, NO Chips, Cracks, Scratches, Stacking Wear, Stains, Repairs or Restorations were noted. Please remember that this is antique and has been previously used in the past. Some wear should be expected, however, our example appears to have escaped the major enamel chipping and wear to the enamel images.
