Description: This listing is for a superb large academic drawing of a standing male nude, executed in charcoal on laid watermarked paper. Though unsigned, the study comes from the French school. An inscription on the back reads "Paris. 9 Mai 1885." The watermarks read PL Bas and ED&C in a circular motif. I recently included this study in my first catalog, "Collecting the Male Nude," and several images from that publication are included here for reference. If you would like a PDF copy of the catalog, please reach out. Drawing measures approximately 18 1/2”w x 24 1/4”h. The sheet is in overall good condition with light soiling and surface imperfections, including minor wear near the edges and a few small folds. Note faint creasing across the center, possibly from folding long ago. See images to verify condition and feel free to ask questions. Terms of SalePlease allow up to four (4) business days after the auction ends for processing and shipment. Condition, Shipping, and ReturnsThis item comes from a smoke free home. Flaws, manufacturing defects, or damages—if applicable—are noted in the description above to the best of my ability. Returns are not accepted. Measurements are approximate. Drawings will be carefully rolled and shipped in a tube unless otherwise specified. Please only bid if you agree to these terms and conditions.
