Paul: as a member of Congress, I am allotted a limited number of tickets to the inauguration ceremonies for president elect George W. Bush that will be held on January 20, 2001. Since demand from Democrats for tickets to the inauguration is not very strong, I thought that you might be interested in obtaining some tickets for yourself or your friends who would like to attend the inauguration..." The letter has lengthy contact info and phone numbers in Washington DC to obtain tickets and continues with: "I offer these tickets in the spirit of bipartisanship that I hope will emerge after our next president takes office. The peaceful transition of power to a new president is an important affirmation of our democracy. We can all celebrate the strength of America's Constitution and our ability to work through difficult problems. Sincerely, Baron P Hill member of Congress." Here's some info on Congressman Hill: Baron Paul Hill (born June 23, 1953) is a retired American politician who served as a U.S. Representative for Indiana's 9th congressional district from 1999 to 2005 and from 2007 to 2011. A native of Seymour, Indiana, Hill is a Democrat, and as a member of Congress belonged to the conservative-leaning Blue Dog Coalition of that party.
