Description: This is an unposted stamped envelope cover from the 1998 Altoona Railfest event in Altoona, Pa. It reads "Altoona Railfest '98 Railfest Station Altoona, Pa 16602 October 3, 1998. The cover features an image of Thoroughbred locomotives on Horseshoe Curve from an original oil painting by Altoona, Pa. artist Robert L. Hunt. The painting was commissioned by the Altoona Railroaders Memorial Museum for Norfolk Southern Corporation President, Chairman and CEO David L. Goode. The painting depicts a westbound NS intermodal train pulled by GE C40-9W's at Horseshoe Curve in a late Autumn scene. The containers are from a variety of owners, including Norfolk Southern.
