Description: Rare Limited Edition 1996 ROYAL DOULTON Large hand painted ceramic decorative character mug Toby jug This character is MR. MICAWBER from the Charles Dickens novel DAVID COPPERFIELD - He is wearing a top hat and an ascot. He has a monocle around his neck. It looks like there are white gloves hanging off his top hat near the top of his staff/cane/walking stick which forms the handle of the mug jug. There is a small bag of coins with 1 coin sticking out on the lower back side. Stamped on the bottom: HAND MADE AND HAND DECORATED, MADE IN ENGLAND, ROYAL DOULTON, ENGLAND - ROYAL DOULTON - MR. MICAWBER, D 7040, MODELLED BY DAVID B BIGGS (name is in cursive writing) (c) 1996 ROYAL DOULTON, LIMITED EDITION OF 2,500 - THIS IS NO. 757 (these 3 numbers are hand etched with green ink) There are 3 sticker tags on the bottom. 2 are former price and information tags. 1 is an inspection tag that says: ROYAL DOULTON INSPECTED BY (inspector's initials written in ink) There are also 3 numbers handwritten on the bottom in black ink: either 66 6 OR 9 99 This jug measures about 8" inches tall at its tallest point and about 7" inches wide at its widest point. This decorative toby jug mug is in great condition. There are no visible cracks, breaks or repairs. There may be flash light reflections on the mug in the photos above.
