Description: This is an offer of a 1993 Classic Hockey Pro Prospects cards -- the base set, as well as the 5-Card LP set and the 20-Card BC set. There are also three (03) numbered Promo or Preview Cards (PR). This set is NOT the same as the 1993 Classic Hockey Draft Picks set -- as this set is specifically designated as 'Pro Prospects' though there is significant cross-over between the sets. The set features the 'First Lady of Hockey,' smallish female goalie Manon Rheaume, who played several seasons in the 1990s, competing for various men's professional minor league teams. Rheaume never actually played in any regular-season NHL game -- but -- she managed a small number of appearances for the Tampa Bay Lightning during the NHL pre-season. She never shied away from the puck -- but -- like most women (not having been born with terribly big shoulders or real thick biceps -- would, she struggled to handle the heavy hockey goalie stick for the entirety of the generally more fast-paced 'back and forth' action of a typical professional men's game. The same issue never proved to have been a serious problem when Rheaume was playing for the Canadian women's national team during the same time period, as her teammates -- significantly more talented than most of their international opponents, other than the United States -- almost always kept the puck in the offensive end, allowing Rheaume plenty of time to rest her arms.
