Description: For your consideration:This is a large silvertone ethnic choker necklace from the 1990s. These were/are popular in Bedouin, Banajara, Kuchi, and Afghani cultures and given to brides as special wedding gifts. It has all original components and red glass inserts. The entire length measures 19" and can be adjusted downward with a hook closure. It is quite heavy, weighing 225g (7.6 oz). The width is about 3 3/4". Ben Amun made these long ago. This is not stamped with a maker, but every single link on the extension chains have imprinted letters. I cannot decipher them. I'm unsure of the material. Many are made from Alpaca silver, others are metal alloys. It makes a fantastic jingling sound! I received information about this necklace from a graduate student from the Middle East! He was very helpful in teaching me about it! From my personal collection, this comes from a smoke-free and kitty-friendly home. I am downsizing! It will be packaged safely for its journey to you! Feel free to ask ANY questions! I'll happily answer! ---- Thank you so much for looking!
