He was also a member of the "Bad Boys" Pistons teams that were known for their tough, physical style of play. In addition to his on-court success, Dumars was also known for his character and sportsmanship, winning the NBA Sportsmanship Award three times.After retiring as a player, Dumars went on to work as an executive in the NBA, serving as the president of basketball operations for the Pistons from 2000 to 2014. He was instrumental in building the Pistons team that won the NBA championship in 2004.
