This classic UK Royal Mint 1988 proof set was limited to 125,000 total sets world-wide and included the then newly designed one pound coin. The beautiful one pound coin had a classic design and the added edged lettering in Latin "DECUS ET TUTAMEN." Each of the coins has a classic bust portrait of Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse and reverse designs that depict in part, the history of Britain. The one penny and two pence coins are comprised of bronze and the 5,10, 20, and 50 pence coins of cupro-nickel. The dark green presentation case measures 6 3/4" X 5" and has a classic latch on the front side.
