TALL MENS 5-SPEED ROAD BIKE VOYAGEUR SUPERIOR SUPER 80S Click Photos to Enlarge Description Here is an original 1980s VINTAGE (The frame serial number is 75990???) mens VINTAGE 5-speed TALL FRAME road bike with 27" wheels. The previous owner called this a "Schwinn Letour" This is a better quality vintage road bike but I am not for sure if the model and/or manufacturer info are correct. (see pics and be your own judge) If you like original BETTER QUALITY unrestored vintage Schwinn road bikes, this may be a great bike for you.With the insanely high price of gas (and the economy being bad) now is the time to ride a cool vintage bike! *This bike has a hard to find TALL lightweight butted tubing mens frame, chrome tip forks, Stronglight 3-piece aluminum cranks, Shimano 600 rear derailleur, lower frame single stick shifter, unique style drop style handlebars, Pivo aluminum neck/stem, vintage road bike seat/saddle with a comfortable accessory gel cover, aluminum seat post, rat trap pedals, Center pull brakes, and more! This one comes just like you see it. It likely started life as a 10-speed but maybe it was always a 5? Either way it is unique! *This was a higher end road bike of the time! They sold many Varsity and Continental road bikes. The Le Tour was a higher end bike at the time. Few people spent the extra $ for the extra features. Consequently, you rare see these in any condition these days! They are cool looking and GREAT riding bikes! *The tires are 27x1 1/4". They are slightly newer replacement vintage tires and do hold air. The bike has lightweight aluminum rims/wheels front and rear with a QUICK RELEASE front hub. Check out the super cool high flange Normandy front and rear hubs! *The bike is a 5-SPEED and the gears do operate. The hand controlled brakes are operable as well. (may need adjustment or possible cable replacement) *DIMENSIONS This is a hard to find size frame set for a TALL rider! The standover height is approx 34 1/2". The distance from the floor to the top of the seat post clamp is approx 34 1/2". The distance from the center of the crank to the top of the seat post clamp is approx 25 1/4". The center of the handlebar stem to the center of the seat post is approx 22 1/2". The bike will accomadate most any rider comfortably. The seat height is easy to adjust. *NOTED FLAWS I got this one just like you see it. The bike was repainted black long ago. (you never know what you find underneath. Appears to originally be white) The chrome is shiny but not perfect show quality. Both wheels have a slight wobble when you spin them. (most every used bike out there seems to) Dont miss out! Bikes like this do not come along often! Priced right! If you click on any of the pics they get very large to show lots of detail. Due to this bike having such a tall frame, sometimes the place that packs for me has to get creative to get these in a box that will fit into Fed Ex size requirements. Usually they remove both wheels and pack upside down to protect the cranks. They pack them safely and have done a number of these for us with success. Just wanted to give you a FYI for how the bike may arrive. *The era of the Super Le Tour, Superior, Paramount, and Voyageur bikes is great! A great way to complete your collection or just have a great bike to display or to ride! *This appears to be a fairly nice original unmolested bicycle unless otherwise noted.
