Beneath the wheel is the wreath which holds the mantle in place. The Helm is a helmet facing front. The devices on the Shield are the two humming birds. The three gold ships represent the three ships of Columbus. The Supporters are a Scarlet Ibis (the national bird of Trinidad) on the left and, a Cocrico (the national bird of Tobago) on the right. The Three Peaks commemorated both Columbus' decision to name Trinidad after the Blessed Trinity and the three Peaks of the Southern mountain range, called the "Three Sisters" on the horizon. Inscribed on the motto scroll are the words: "Together we aspire; together we achieve"Lettering: REPUBLIC OF TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO TOGETHER WE ASPIRE TOGETHER WE ACHIEVE 1976 FM ReverseThe national flower, the Chaconia (Warszewiczia coccinea or Wild Poinsettia) and value.Lettering: 25 CENTS EdgeReeded CommentsOn July 1, 2017 the metal composition of the 25 cents changed into a steel core with a copper-nickel overlay, which makes this coin magnetic. Because of the metal composition change this coin will have a new KM number. Although it's likely to be KM# 32a only Krause can assign a KM# number so we have to wait till Krause officially assigns this number to the coin and unfortunately this could take a few more years. Since this change took place in the middle of the year it's likely the 2017 coin exists in old and new metal composition, so be aware to tick the right entry when adding a 2017 coin, especially since there are several other entries in between.YearMintageGVGFVFXFAUUNCFrequency1976 FM6,0001.9%with mintmark; Matte1976 FM10,0001.3%with mintmark; Proof1976 FM5820.3%with mintmark; Special Uncirculated1977 9,000,000 15%1977 FM6,0000.4%with mintmark; Matte1977 FM5,3370.5%with mintmark; Proof1977 FM6330.14%with mintmark; Special Uncirculated1978 5,470,000 8%1978 FM6,0000.2%with mintmark; Matte1978 FM4,8450.5%with mintmark; Proof1978 FM4720.2%with mintmark; Special Uncirculated1979 9%1979 FM6,0000.6%with mintmark; Matte1979 FM3,2700.4%with mintmark; Proof1979 FM5180.2%with mintmark; Special Uncirculated1980 15,000,000 18%1980 FM3,0000.3%with mintmark; Matte1980 FM2,3930.4%with mintmark; Proof1980 FM7960.3%with mintmark; Special Uncirculated1981 17%1981 FM0.6%with mintmark; Matte1981 FM0.12%with mintmark; Proof1981 FM0.17%with mintmark; Special Uncirculated1983 18%1983 FM0.4%with mintmark; Matte1983 FM0.2%with mintmark; Proof1984 7%1993 13%1997 14%1998 8%1999 9%Royal Mint1999 3,0000.2%Royal Mint; Proof2000 4%2001 3%2002 9%2003 10%2004 5%2005 16%2006 12%2007 19%2008 14%2009 2%2012 7%2014 5%2015 2.0%2016 1.0%2017 0.8%Non-magnetic
