Description: UNGRADED MINT SETSET TAKEN FROM BOX TO BINDER SHEETS The 1979 Topps Baseball set consists of 726 cards, each measuring 2-1/2" by 3-1/2”. A color photo dominates each card, with the player’s name and team printed at the bottom border. The lower left front of each card also carries a small white baseball with the Topps logo. Subsets include statistical leaders, major league records set during the season and eight cards devoted to career records. Perhaps the biggest redesign involved rookies cards, now arranged by teams under the heading of “Prospects” – with the key Ozzie Smith rookie card is usually seen with very poor centering. The set’s most notable variation is Bump Wills’ card #369, which was initially incorrectly printed with the Blue Jays as his team, and later corrected to Rangers. Only about 10 percent of the correct version is known to have been printed, making that version more difficult to obtain.
