New York: Some of theater's "royalty" is gathered backstage at the Helen Hayes Theater in New York April 22nd after a performance of "A Touch of the Poet" From Left are: Helen Hayes, Dorothy Stickney, Lynn Fontanne, Jason Robards, Geraldine Fitzgerald and Anita Loos. Miss Fontanne, 90, staying with Miss Stickney during a rare visit to New York, went backstage to congratulate Robards and Miss Fitzgerald on their performances in the play. Last August, Miss Fontanne's husband, Alfred Lunt, died of cancer at the age of 84, leaving her alone for the first time since their marriage in 1922. "I miss him every second of the day," she told an interviewer. And: "We were particularly suited to each other. I loved and admired him, and he loved and admired me.
