I got these shoes which were bleeding edge technology as a collegiate distance runner in 1977, and used them for race days only. Before long I became a nationals swimmer, and later a 3 time national champion in triathlon (sprint and international distances) at 202 pounds. These shoes were my start, as they were for many top athletes of the time. If you want to be the best - you need to run with the best. And in 1977, they were the best by a mile. They are in very good condition, because I treated them so well, and storred them as an iconic memory thereafter. parting with them is not easy.
