Description: Buy Gone Classics is excited, and honored to offer this 1977 Chevrolet Malibu Classic with just 29,639 original miles! This is a low mileage 75% original paint survivor car recently awakened from long term storage. It's an absolutely incredible time capsule! We encourage buyers to view over 300 photos and 9 high quality videos below. They leave no stone left unturned, and offer a true condition report of this gorgeous Chevelle Malibu Classic. Our description below will be somewhat brief, but please don't hesitate to reach out to us with any questions; we're happy to help. The MalibuWe purchased this '77 Malibu Classic from the estate of the owner who purchased the car with just 20,025 miles back in 1989. For those of us who remember these cars from back in the day, yes the interior still has that unmistakable GM new car smell from that period; it will definitely take you back in time. This Malibu has two build sheets included, showing an impressive collection of options ordered with this car. We believe about 75% or so of the Firethorn Red Poly paint to be original, with both rear quarter panels showing evidence of being sprayed at some point over the years. This Malibu's paint still has excellent gloss, but folks who remember these GM single stage metallic paints from this era know they are subject to micro-checking, which is evident on the horizontal surfaces. Overall, the paint shows well for being original Firethorn Poly, but is not show quality. The vinyl top appears new, but appears to have been dyed at some point, and looks fantastic. Glass, trim, and chrome all show incredibly well! The chrome, in particular, shows like new. It's a clean, clean car.The interior and trunk area all show like a low mile survivor, too. Note the lack of wear on the brake and gas pedal, along with great grain on the steering wheel. The dash pad area looks to be uncracked, and the carpet in this car shows like it's nearly new. The trunk is complete with its original spare, jack, and mat in place...it's an absolute time machine. The undercarriage on this car is also quite the example. Notice the factory tags, lack of rust, and even the original exhaust in place! This Malibu likely had its trailer hitch installed at the dealership, as there is original undercoating overspray on it. NO ADDITIONAL undercoating was added since my ownership. Not knowing how the car will be used down the road, a film of WD40 was sprayed underneath to help protect the undercarriage. The engine compartment is unbelievably untouched. This car appears to have original upper an lower radiator hoses intact (look at those stamps on the hoses!), original spark plug wires, ignition cap, and vacuum lines in place. It's really a sight to see. The engine compartment has not been painted in any way under our care, as we prefer to present survivor cars without fluffing components like valve covers, etc. An era correct Delco Freedom battery topper was attached to the battery for a vintage appearance.Since our purchase, we opted to add a set of 15" rally wheels, along with NEW BF Goodrich 225/70 tires all the way around. The oil was changed with Valvoline VR1 10W-30 high zinc oil, along with a reproduction vintage style PF25 filter. The front end was greased, and the battery is nearly new as well. As you can see in the videos, the car currently starts, runs, and drives at highway speeds well. It's an incredibly HONEST car. With that said, additional mechanical maintenance will likely be needed if the buyer's desire is to drive this car on a more regular basis; it's a 47 year old survivor car with original hoses, plug wires, etc. Also noted in the Wisconsin Buyers Guide in the documentation photos below, we did notice drips of coolant below the radiator after our inspection drive. This can also be seen in the undercarriage video below. We're really excited to get this '77 Malibu into the hands of a new caretaker. It's an incredibly honest, solid, well-optioned car, with some great documentation. Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions, but please grab you favorite beverage, and enjoy the videos and photos below...YouTube VideosExterior Video Exterior 1977 Chevrolet Malibu Classic For Sale Just 29,639 Miles 305 V8 75% Original Paint Survivor Video will open in a new window Using the eBay App?
