Description: Only year Topps made a special #1 card for just one player for such a huge record. The yards gained for each game is possibly unbreakable. (read the back of these cards) Prior to O.J. there was only one football running back legend ahead of all the othersand that was Jim Brown. Once O.J. "The Juice" Simpson busted on the scene the footballcollectible world went BOOM! In 1974 Topps created a beautiful set from the 1973 season. In that season O.J. rushed for the first, totally unheard of amount of 2,003 yards. He did thisfeat in only 14-games, for an average of 143-yard EACH game. The record today is 2,105 yards byEric Dickerson, as amazing as that is... that occurred during a 16-game stretch, which equates to131-yards average per game. Now the NFL added another game for a 17-game season. The bestJim Brown could do was 133-yards for 14 games and 127-yards per game for the 12-game season. So Topps, in 1974 did something they never did before produced a special #1 cardthat was totally different than the rest of the set just for O.J's incredible 1973 season. You get that card with all the break down games on the back and his card for that year.Plus, his #130 Card. (Many posters were made of this card) Great Vintage Conversation Pieces that are approaching 50-years old. Very Desirable Cards from the 1974 Topps Set.
