Here is the history of Taylor University from its founding as a small Christian Girl's school to 1971. There is a 5 1/4" x 3 1/2" pastedown on the front cover; that pastedown is worn after a half-century and more.Taylor University was founded in 1846 as Fort Wayne Female College. At that time women matriculated to a degree in 'Mistress in English Literature'. The school was founded by the Methodist Church as a Woman's College. In 1890 Taylor University acquired the land in Upland when a local Medical school merged with another Methodist Medical College. Taylor University has prospered in its new Upland, Indiana home.A book in Good condition. No looseness, No mustiness, No smoke smell. A name, small and short on the ffep - that's it.
