Description: 1971-73 Montreal Canadiens unissued publicity/insert set. Rookie for Guy Lafleur. This is a 22 card set with 2 or 3 players doubled up (but different photos). Most notably is Henri Richard who on one card has an "A" on his shirt and the other has a "C" we took this to be a 71-72 and 72-73 mix. There are thirteen 71-72 and nine 72-73 shots if you figure the darker background as one year and the lighter the other. Some players we cannot identify. Cards are all mint with sharps corners and measure standard 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" size and are blank on the back. These were apparently all or part of an unissued O-Pee-Chee subset. There has been speculation that they may have been considered as the Stanley Cup winners for 71-72 and rejected in favour of the Team Canada inserts. Free shipping to Canada.
