It is a handsome buck rabbit reclining comfortably. It measures some 5 inches long by 3 inches wide by 5 inches tall. Most all Caugant tureens are made in Portugal (a well known secret is that the Portuguese are geniuses when it comes to manufacturing Majolica) under license for the French market. Michel Caugant was a restaurateur/chef known for his delectable pates. He had all sorts of different realistic animal themed tureens created for the corresponding dish based on that animal. It would make a darling candy dishes...or equally charming filled with a dip and surrounded by a bunny's favorite foods...carrots, celery, radishes. No chips, cracks or repairs.
