Description: The 1970 USPS Special Issue Commemorative albums is among the first annual sets to be published and is increasingly difficult to find. Included in this set of 6-cent stamps are the Natural History block of 4 (Scott #1387-1390), the 4-stamp Anti-Pollution block (Scott #1410-1413), and the contemporary Christmas block of 4 (Scott #1415-1418). Individual stamps commemorate Edgar Lee Masters (Scott #1405), Suffragettes (Scott #1406), Robert E. Lee, Jefferson Davis, & Stonewall Jackson (Scott #1408), and the Mayflower (Scott #1420), among others.
