Description: Here we have a rear window defog conversion kit that was offered as a factory option on 1970 Mercury Cougar XR7 models (except convertibles). This can also be installed in 1969 Cougar XR7 models. This is an original factory part and has the "AUTOLITE" and "FoMoCo" markings on it. This not often seen accessory mounts in the rear shelf (package tray) in a pre-punched opening. The assembly is complete with the blower motor and housing, plastic trim grill cover, 2 part wiring harness and the defog rocker panel which mounts the two-speed defogger control switch as well as the 3 remaining standard XR7 switches. The part is in excellent used condition. I have bench tested this unit by running it for about an hour and it works perfect. It has been cleaned and detailed and is ready to install.
