Description: Up for sale is a 1970 1st Edition/1st Printing copy of "LAST SURVIVORS: NATURAL HISTORY OF 48 ANIMALS IN DANGER OF EXTINCTION" by Noel Simon & Paul Geroudet. Wonderful color illustrations. Many animals of the world are in danger of extinction; their loss will mean a spiritual, economic, and aesthetic impoverishment to mankind. Among them are some of the most fascinating(and often the most beautiful) animals known to man. Last Survivors tells the story of 48 such animals and birds from all over the world, not only through its remarkably clear, easy-to-understand, scientifically accurate text, but also through some of the most magnificent full-color animal drawings ever made. Painted by Helmut Diller(mammals) and Paul Barruel(birds), the illustrations are a unique combination of precise scientific detail and artistic inspiration. No animal drawings are better; few, if any, are as good. This book is in very good condition. Shelf wear/chipping to the jacket around the edges, corners and at the top/bottom of the spine panel. Shelf wear/rubbing/toning to the front/rear jacket panels as well as some darkening along the spine panel. The dust jacket has been price-clipped. Boards are straight and clean with four good corners. The spine and pages are very tight. There are no other marks, tears, bookplates or writing in this book.
