Description: Vintage 1968 full, unused ticket between the LSU Tigers, and the Mississippi State Bulldogs played on 11/16/1968 at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. LSU won 20-16 in front of a crowd of 57,000. LSU went 8-3 in 1968 finishing #19 in the final AP poll and winning the Peach Bowl over FSU 31-27. Charles McClendon was the head coach, his 7th season at LSU. Mississippi State had a rough season finishing 0-8-2 in head coach Charles Shira's 2nd season. The highlight of their season was tying Ole Miss and Archie Manning in the Egg Bowl. This game is known for the famous "missing down". With the Bulldogs driving from their own 37 to the LSU 5. They faced a 3rd and 3 but the refs ruled that it was 4th down forcing the Bulldogs to kick a 22 yard FG to take a 16-14 lead. This ticket is in VG - Ex condition with some age toning to the ticket. Please see the photos for details. This appears to be a fairly rare ticket as looking on worthpoint I could only find 3 instances of this ticket including this one.
