Sammy Trombatore, a "golden boy" - When I was a kid, I remember seeing a then curly-haired William Holden in the movie version of "Golden Boy," the Clifford Odets classic. Talking to Sammy Trombatore at a Loyola "Hall of Fame" luncheon the other day, the plot of this vintage story came back to me. In "Golden Boy", Holden wanted to become a fighter while his parents sought a career for him as a violinist. The parents eventually gave in to Holden's boyish pleas and he became a champion.Photo measures 8 x 10.25inches. Photo is dated 5-7-1967.
