Description: This is an authentic handbill for the October 8th, 1966 "Peace Pooh" concert featuring Grateful Dead, Bola Sete, and Quicksilver Messenger Service. The poster measures 8.5" x 11" and is a rare piece of music memorabilia. It is a great addition to any collection for fans of rock and pop music, especially those interested in Grateful Dead and their early days in San Francisco. The handbill is in its original form and is a unique piece of entertainment history. The handbill promoted the event that also aimed at raising awareness and support for anti-war candidate Phil Drath's write-in campaign for Congressman. The concert and event was held at Mt. Tamaipais Outdoor Theater and included speeches by Ed Keating and Don Duncan. The design, by iconic psychedelic poster artists Stanley Mouse and Alton Kelley of Mouse Studios, shows A. A. Milne's characters Pooh and Piglet walking towards a setting sun, under the word "PEACE." Pooh is carrying a kilo in his arm and Piglet is casually blowing smoke at the sky. "Mouse! Studios" is printed on the lower right side of the piece (just on the other side of the black line border). This handbill is framed under glass and will be carefully shipped as-is to preserve its integrity. Condition: Great condition overall, rich orange color, blacks have honest age-related fading. Light handling wear on some corners, specifically a minor stain on the left corner (please see photos). Kindly sold as-is.
