Description: Handsome large-format fold-out 1966 official road map of Canada, printed more than 52 years ago. This map opens to a generous 19" x 38" and has great detail on old highway alignments, with cartography by the Surveys and Mapping Branch, Department of Mines and Technical Surveys, Ottawa. A Maple Leaf symbol identifies the Trans-Canada Highway — "the world's longest national highway." The coverage area includes Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia. An inset covers the Yukon and part of the Northwest Territory. The map was issued in 1966 by the Canadian Government Travel Bureau and includes connecting roads in the northern United States. The code number on the back panel is 44-61-P. The front cover artwork shows the National Flag of Canada, also known as the Maple Leaf and l'Unifolié, which had been adopted in 1965, just one year before this map was printed. Condition: This road map is in excellent condition, bright and clean, with no marks, rips, or tears. Please see the scans and feel free to ask any questions. Buy with confidence!
