All vehicle trades considered including classics and performance. We can assist with financing and shipping as needed. This gorgeous automobile is a 1965 Oldsmobile Cutlass 4-4-2. It is the real deal with the correct 4V code on its cowl tag and has seen a great deal of restoration work. And while “442” might conjure images of a hardcore muscle car replete with speed equipment and ready the quarter mile, this one is a different story. It has a dignified look with its two-tone paint and wire wheel covers and offers a very comfortable ride with a factory automatic transmission. But make no mistake; from the 400 cubic inch engine to the big sway bars, it is still a 4-4-2 throughout. The reconditioning process started with any required repairs from nearly 60 years of service. This was followed by a repaint in its original combination of Target Red (code R) and Ebony Black (code A). The colors really make it stand out from other such models as do the wire wheel covers (which were indeed a factory option). The body is further highlighted by all the great looking brightwork and unique 4-4-2 quarter panel scoops. And while the exterior of the car is nice to look at, be sure to see the underside pictures as well. If only they were all so clean. For 1965 Oldsmobile introduced the new 400 cubic inch Rocket V8. It was the only engine available in the 4-4-2 that year and offered impressive factory ratings of 345 horsepower and 440 foot-pounds of torque. The transmission is the optional 2-speed Jetaway automatic which, for the 4-4-2, was a special version designed for high-RPM shifts. This is followed by a heavy-duty driveshaft that delivers power to the Oldsmobile 10-bolt rear end. The 4-4-2 suspension featured dual sway bars measuring 0.94” in front and 0.87” at the back mounted to boxed rear control arms. Additional equipment includes power steering and power brakes that have been upgraded with front discs and a dual reservoir master cylinder. The black interior has also been reconditioned throughout. It offers dual bucket seats with power adjustments for the driver. The upholstery and foam have been replaced making things very comfortable. Note the factory retractable seat belts were not reinstalled but are included. The rear bench seat was also recovered to match. Everything looks terrific including the carpet, door panels, kick panels, rear trim panels, and headliner. The dashboard, instruments, and controls are all in fantastic condition too. Everything works properly including the horn, wipers, washers, heater, defroster, radio, parking brake, backup lights, courtesy lights, and turn signals. The trunk contains a full-size spare tire and bumper jack along with a car cover. This 4-4-2 represents a stately muscle car. It has the underpinnings of the day’s performance models but with the look of something more refined. It is also very enjoyable to drive with a solid feel throughout. All the work is done making this one a turn-key classic for its next owner. Vehicle Description Be sure to click on "Full size photos" to see all 70+ pictures!
