Description: The rare, possibly one of a kind, 1965 card has slight wear. The prototype card has not been cut and was never in a package. It measures roughly 5.25" x 4". Please review the pictures to assist with the condition and content of the card. The Marhoefer Meatpacking Company was founded in 1901 as the Kuhner Packing Company. The Marhoefer family would take over in 1945. Based in Muncie, Indiana, the company would aggressively advertise their sausages and hot dogs in conjunction with the local Indianapolis 500. These cards were produced as part of the packaging for their products. This unnumbered card features Johnny Boyd and is one of 18 cards that make up a complete 1965 Marhoefer Driver set. Boyd made 12 starts in the Indy 500 with a best finish of 3rd in 1958. From Fresno, Boyd would make 56 starts in Championship Cars with 31 finishes in the Top 10.
