Description: This Kennedy Half Dollar As you can see in our store, we like the Kennedy Coins and stock all of them and sell “Camelot” gifts coins as well. Visit our Kennedy Store. If this one is above your price range, we also have lower priced versions of this coin which we do not consider as comparable to this one and so sell at lower prices. As Kennedy Halves are still being produced by the Mint for collectors only and are no longer being minted for general circulation, Kennedy values are going up for those no longer being minted for general circulation, and are actively selling for collectors after 2010, at lower prices but still at prices well above their Mint value of $.50. The coin in the pictures is not necessarily the one you will get, but is either the one you get or is representative of or comparable to what you will get, or a full refund will be given if you are not completely satisfied. Kennedy Halves below “Mint” are not worth the cost of getting them evaluated by an expert and slabbed because the cost is about the same as the coin might sell for. We do not post pictures of every coin we have for sale as that has become physically impossible to do anymore given the time it takes and the number of coins we have for sale. We think you will like the coin you receive and will refund the money you paid if you do not. We are experts at evaluating the condition of this coin, so we know a good coin when we see one. While we cannot make a specific representation to you or even say the word (EBay does not allow that), we describe it as we do only if we are reasonably sure that a coin is a “Superb Gem” which is really really good condition. We will only send a coin in for slabbing and evaluation under certain circumstances described below. We will send it in to an expert if we think it is high “Gem” or “Mint” and then only if the prices of that particular coin justify the cost. These have only the slightest distracting marks or imperfections. Toning is still quite acceptable and in these grades will usually be pleasing. Only those Kennedy Halves very near perfect have a high potential for resale well above the cost of acquiring and having them evaluated and slabbed and then selling the coin, and so we will generally just sell those not worth this extra cost. If you do not like the coin, you may return it. Although we have the expertise to know what is really really good, we are not permitted to tell you what we think an evaluator service might or would tell you. But we know it is a fine coin and we are sure you will like it and will agree that its description that we are permitted to say is accurate. All of our “BU” (Brilliant Uncirculated) or better coins came from and are brand new from the U.S. Mint and have never been circulated. If it did not come from the U.S. Mint and there is even the smallest sign it was ever circulated from close inspection, it is called a “circulated” coin and we will refer to it as “Almost (or About) Uncirculated.” That means it is uncirculated coin with moderate distracting marks or deficiencies and have generally average to above average eye appeal. “Gem” or “Mint” uncirculated condition an uncirculated coin with only minor distracting marks or imperfections, and we have a lot of these. At this point, mint luster is expected to be full, although toning is quite acceptable. “Choice BU” generally means “Choice Uncirculated” or “Choice BU” which means it has none of the heavy marks or imperfections that often come from the U.S. Mint (even though uncirculated) when they are processed by machines and bang into other coins that leave their mark. It is sometimes used to refer to a coin that is good but not as good as a "GEM." If you want a nice looking coin, do not be fooled by mere “BU” or “Brilliant Uncirculated” descriptions. That only means that they are at the bottom of the uncirculated class and will have serious marks on them detracting from their appeal. A Choice BU coin is only a little more and will look a lot better. We love Kennedy coins for their looks and their story, but their value is also likely to go up over time. We think Kennedy coin values will do better and they will be more attractive if they are Choice BU or “Gem” or “Mint” condition. You will like them better for their appearance. We do not clean coins as that will destroy its value. Beware of circulated coins that are worn or perfectly silver! We do not alter or repair the photo of the coin in any way to “doctor” its look. This is either the coin you will get or is comparable to the one you will get, or your money back.
