This Jotter has a smooth button and brass threads. We have pictured a purple regular sized Parker Jotter for your reference. The purple pen is NOT part of this auction. This is so you can see the cap and the barrel of the compact Jotter are smaller, but it takes a standard Jotter refill. The last picture is from Parker's book "Jotter: History of an Icon" so you can read about the compact Jotter. It is also NOT part of the auction...for your info only.
