Description: 1963 Fender Jazzmaster project neck. I had this on a vintage Stratocaster body. When strung up it had the proper relief and played fine. As most know, these are basically the same as Stratocaster necks with a different headstock shape. They can be cut down to match exactly the Stratocaste headstock shape. However, since this has a stamped date and model code, this would still clearly indicate it was originally a Jazzmaster neck. It is an original pre-CBS Jazzmaster neck. Still has the original logo. Brazilian Rosewood fretboard. Clay dots. No extra tuner holes. Typical slimmer early 1960s profile. Not a fat neck. The guitar neck has been entirely oversprayed. It has been professionally refretted. The fret board was planed at some point. It still has the original radius. It is currently a serviceable neck that worked fine on the body I was using. It’s clearly a player grade neck, but will do the “pre-CBS” thing just fine. You may wish to restore it further with different frets, a better refinish, etc. or use it as is. That’s up to you. I’ve priced it pretty low all things considered to leave your room to do a few other things to it as you may see fit or whatever other adjustments it might need for your project These early 60s necks are typically pretty slim. There are baseball bat examples out there, but they are pretty rare. This is one of the slimmer ones.
