1962 (Verified) Very Early Mamod Live Steam Tractor TE1

Description: LIVING ESTATE SALE (Details at the end of description) The Mamod Tractor is a multi time winner of the "Boys Toy of the Year" award.This is the perfect toy for boys of all age, including tomboys. For your consideration is a very early Mamod TE1 Live Steam Roller made in England in 1962. It was shipped from England in 1962 (photo) but might have been produced even earlier than that.This is an early version of the still recently produced Live Steam Tractor TE1a but with the unidirectional valve, the spirit burner and the early style whistle and pressure valve.This is probably a first generation, as the boiler level plug has only one prong. It has been air tested (video).It is in nice vintage condition, is complete and all original. It has been fired, but probably only a handful of times, considering the lack of residue on the boiler.There is a bit of corrosion here and there ; nothing terrible. It was probably not stored in the best environment.The original box is in pretty good shape for its age (over 62 years old).You will need some burning alcohol and distilled water is highly recommended. Please note that if an item has been only "air tested", it might need some work or adjustments to make it run on steam. Often, older gaskets have dried up and need replacement. My hands aren't steady enough anymore for the precise work of cutting new gaskets. I wish I could... Condition : This Live Steam Tractor is over 60 years old.It has been air tested (video) and is complete and original. It has been fired, but only a handful of times.
