1962 Fender Jaguar Pre-CBS Vintage Offset Guitar Sunburst w/ Case

Description: Up for sale, a 1962 Fender Jaguar in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with a modern Fender “eyeglass” case. A genuine Pre-CBS example hailing from the very first year of the Jaguar's production run, early features include a Brazilian rosewood fretboard with clay dot inlay, flat pole black bobbin pickups, and Kluson Deluxe single line tuners. This soulfully-played Jag is 100% original save for a modern flip-up mute assembly. Weighing 8lbs, this Jaguar features an alder body and a maple neck, with great natural chime and resonance. As the top of the line Fender model when introduced in '62, the Jaguar has a particularly wide range of tones available to the player, while living up to its reputation of being able to out-twang a Tele and deliver sparkling, glassy cleans like no other Fender can. The earliest incarnation of the Jaguar (from 1962-mid '63) had the flat pole piece pickups seen here, and this pair delivers a sound that is much bigger than one expects from a Jag. The bridge pickup has a lively and very three-dimensional sound with a thick, chewy spank. The neck pickup has a woody bark and plenty of percussive sparkle. Each pickup position is very distinct, and these tones are further broadened by the Low Cut toggle and Rhythm Circuit, making the signal notably brighter and fatter/darker, respectively. This Jaguar has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 11-49 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
