Description: Very unique original vintage 1960s Swiss dive strap 18mm blue waterproof dive watch band. Holes throughout in a honeycomb pattern, very unusual. We’ve sold many of these here from our old stock. Made in Switzerland during the 1960s/70s by Golay & Guignard S.A. Geneva. With the flared shape. Helps offset a small lugs/large head watch because, while the lugs connection end is 18mm, the band flares out to 25mm just before the ends to help make a better transition. Other straight-sided bands just wind up looking too skinny for your chunky watch. Band is made of nylon with a stainless steel buckle signed Acier on back. These are the "Playa" vintage dive watch band model by Golay. Standard length strap that measures 7 1/2 inches (19.2cm) placed end to end, not counting the buckle. Metric measurements are 115/75mm. Thickness is 4.5mm where the band meets the watch and 2.1mm at the tail end. Takes a 16mm opening buckle. This auction is for one 18mm blue band.
