Description: This auction is for a photo of the 1940 C/Gas Willys Coupe nicknamed the "Fithy Forty" because of it's typically unclean appearance . Owner was Charlie Hill of Columbia,Pa. ,Driver was Horace "Porky" Zartman and Crew Chief was Larry Roberts of Hanover,Pa. Sponsored by S & S Parts Co.,this 283 Fuel Injected Chevy Powered C/Gasser terrorized Drag Strips on the East Coast and set National Records in 1962,1963 and 1964 ; went on to win it's Class at the 1963 NHRA Nationals,in Indianapolis,Indiana . Unfortunately my C/Gas 1940 Ford Coupe (Olds Powered) was in the same Class as this car-I couldn't come close to beating it. Sadly,"Pork" Zartman passed away on March 28,2010 .This photo was taken in 1963 at YORK US30 Dragway ,in Pa. It is on 4" x 6" Premium Photo Paper ,made from my Original Negative . Great view of Drag Racing History .
