Description: THIS IS THE AUTOBIOGRAPH OF FAMED WEST POINT ACADEMY FOOTBALL COACH, EARL H. BLAIK, WHICH IS NICELY INSCRIBED, DATED, AND SIGNED BY EARL H. BLAIK. The signature has not been authenticated, but is consistent with others easily found online. First Edition (stated, no indication of later printings), published in 1960 by Holt, Rinehart and Winston. Overall in VERY GOOD CONDITION, with the main wear issues associated with the dust jacket. It has edge wear with small tears and chips, with a larger chunk missing top of dust jacket. There is light age-toning of white spaces, but is fully intact including price on front flap and now handsomely preserved in a mylar jacket. The light blue cloth boards have light edge and corner wear, some color fading around the edges with a larger fade on top of spine where the dust jacket had a chunk missing. 430 clean and solidly bound pages, one photo section, no interior marks except for NICE INSCRIPTION, DATE (1961) AND SIGNATURE OF EARL H. BLAIK on first free endpaper. The book was found in an estate in the Washington DC Metro Area, and the inscription is to "Bobby Baker". Here is a bio of the likely Bobby Baker from the Washington DC are at that time frame, from Wikipedia: "Robert Gene Baker (November 12, 1928 – November 12, 2017) was an American political adviser to Lyndon B. Johnson, and an organizer for the Democratic Party. He became the Senate's Secretary to the Majority Leader. In 1963, he resigned during an investigation by the Democratic-controlled Senate into his business and political activities. The investigation included allegations of bribery and arranging sexual favors in exchange for Congressional votes and government contracts. The Senate investigation looked into the financial activities of Baker and Lyndon Johnson during the 1950s. The investigation of Lyndon Johnson as part of the Baker investigation was later dropped after President Kennedy's assassination and Johnson's ascension to the presidency." Here is a bio of Earl H.
