1960 Leica M2 Vorlaufwerk 35mm Rangefinder Camera 50mm Summicron F2 MR Meter

Description: Up for sale is a very clean and beautiful 1960 Leica M2 Vorlaufwerk (988698) body with Summicron 50mm F2 collapsible lens and MR meter. The body is in excellent condition very little signs of use for the age. The viewfinder has the slightest bit of hazing in the lower portion, but I cannot see it through the viewfinder. Framelines are bright and straight, with the FL switch working well. Shutter speeds appear to be mostly correct except for 1sec, there is a slight whine. The only issue is, the self timer is not rewinding. The lens is in excellent shape as well. The focus ring moves very nicely and smoothly. The aperture ring is nice and 'clicky'. One extremely small piece of dust when shining a very flight flashlight on the rear element. No scratches or cleaning marks on the glass. Comes with a MR meter, which I just put a new battery in, and appears to be functioning correctly. The body has just been rewrapped in fresh leather. Comes with original Leitz Green Leather bag. Interior is in OK condition. The strap leather is a bit dry.
