Description: DESCRIPTION: This is a beautiful 1959 Topps #4 Max McGee Rookie graded BVG 7.5. Look at the pics! Sharp corners and edges and really presents well. Herb won an insane 5 NFL Championships including 2 Super Bowls. He was Pro Bowler, and 2x NFL Punting Leader. He was also quite a character. The night before the Super Bowl I, he and Paul Hornung broke curfew and went out and got hammered. In warm ups McGee told receiver Boyd Dowler to not get hurt because he was badly hung over. Of course Dowler when down on the second series. McGee came into the game and soon scored the first ever touchdown in a Super Bowl with a great 1 handed catch from Starr, finishing the game with 7 for 138 and 2 touchdowns.
