Description: 1958 Press Photo The Hungarian String Quartet to perform in UW Health Auditorium This is an original press photo. Hungarian Quartet - A new cellist, Gabriel Magyar, will be heard with the Hungarian String Quartet when it appears in concerts January 10 and 11 in the UW Health Sciences Auditorium on the Friends of Music series. Magyar replaces Vilmos Palotai, who retired because of ill health, in the Quartet, making its seventh appearance on the popular chamber music series. (Other members are Zolta Szekely and Alexandre Moskowsky, violinists, and Denese Koromzay, viola). The Friday night program is to be presented on the sold-out Friends of Music series but tickets are available for the Saturday night program. On the first evening the Quartet will perform Haydn's "Lark" Quartet (D major), Bartok's Quartet No. 6 and Beethoven's Quartet, op. 131. Saturday night the four musicians will play Hindesmith's Quartet No. 5, Dvorak's "American" Quartet (F major) and Beethoven's Quartet in B flat major.
