Japanese Prime Minister Nobosuke Kishi at his favorite sport on a Japanese golf course. The premier is due in Washington this week for conferences with another high-ranking golfer, President Eisenhower, on affairs of state. Sixty years old, affable and energetic, Kishi visited the US twice before, in 1955 and 1926. The latter, he says, was "a momentous year in golf" because Bobby Jones swept the American amateur and open golf tournaments and it "was the year I took up the game." Kishi shot 85 in his prime, still manages an occasional 90 on Sundays he gets to the course.Photo measures 7 x 9.25inches. Photo is dated 6-14-1957.
