This newplace of business just recently purchased by the Robinsons, has afrontage of 115-feet on the John Lodge Expressway, and is with-out a doubt one of the finest establishments of its kind to be foundanywhere.Located as it is, this new place of business can be reached frompractically any section of the city in approximately a quarter of anhour, when the expressways now under construction have beencompleted. When first entering this new edifice one cannot help but marvelat the beautiful appearance of even the most minute detail whichhas been worked-out for both show and convenience by Earl and"Dot” Robinson, in an endeavor to also put the retailing of motor-cycles and their accessories on the highest plane possible; and theymost certainly have accomplished it.From the picturesque flowers blooming in the most appropriateplaces; from the most modern glass-topped offices to the eye-appealing display of both new and used machines, and the show-ing of about every imaginable sort of accessory attached to framed-in display boards; the showroom of this new place of business isundoubtedly one which must be seen to be appreciated. While many cater to the public alone, Earl and "Dot” Robinsonthink equally as much about their help. In fact it is one happyfamily, with each mechanic having the latest type of equipment athis service, as well as his own private department to use it in.Machines entering the fireproof building, and leaving after be-ing repaired, are let through an electrically-controlled door ofthe most modern type for the purpose. And to top it all, bothcustomers and the help have free access to both hot tea and coffeeat all times. With two such friendly and enthusiastic motorcyclists as Earland "Dot” Robinson as owners and operators this new place ofbusiness cannot help but be a success; and they certainly are welldeserving of everything they have; which they have earned throughmuch privation and endless hours of strenuous labor. They also area couple who never fail to get out and ride with the gang at everyopportunity; as well as to compete in every possible event in manydifferent sections of the country.Known from Coast to Coast, and past winners of numerous bigmotorcycle events, there has been far too little written about theRobinson’s in recent years. In fact I expect there are very few ofour comparatively new riders who have the least idea of justwhat either of these fine motorcyclists have actually accomplishedin the years gone by, and fewer still who are acquainted with thefollowing:Earl, a real veteran, began riding in the spring of 1928, andstarted to work in the Harley shop owned by Jimmy Goulding(his father-in-law) in Saginaw, Michigan, in the fall of 1928.Began managing shop the following year; bought the business in1932, and married "Dot" Goulding the same year, after havingtaught her to ride in 1929-... 12784-AL-5505-23
