Turpin, Randy (Boxer). Britain's Randy Turpin, eyes glazed, rests against ring ropes after quick finish in bout with Italy's Tiberio Mitri in Rome tonight for the European 160-pound title. Mitri connected with a short left hook and then a right to the jaw of the former world middleweight champion to finish him in 28 seconds of the first round of a scheduled 15-round contest. Turpin fell hard. The referee counted to eight, then stopped. Officials ruled it a technical knockout because the referee didn't finish the count. Photo measures 10 x 7 inches.
