Russian soldiers and East German civilians look over the wreaths at the Soviet war memorial in the British sector of Berlin, February 23, following Soviet ceremony marking the 34th anniversary of the Red army. The soldiers were unarmed, except for the sentry at left. The memorial is dedicated to units of the Red army which stormed Berlin in 1945. The Russians are permitted by the Western powers to cross the sector border for ceremonies at the memorial. Photo measures 9.75 x 7inches. Photo is dated 2-23-1952.
