Description: I found this in my late-mother's sewing box. This is an ad for Fruit of the Loom dresses at The May Company, a Cleveland, OH department store. Taken from the Plain Dealer (Cleveland newspaper): July 20, 1952. Interestingly, the ad gives an early use of the word "COOL": The May Co.'s COOL Basement. The department at the store (from the bottom of the ad) was The May Company's Basement Housedress Department. Ships USPS First Class Mail, protected by thin cardboard, in a 9X12 envelope. No tracking. Shipping rates are quoted for Continental US. I combine shipping. If you plan to buy more than one item, do not make a final payment. Add items to your cart and request a total. I will invoice you with a combined shipping rate. Note that there is a 13-oz maximum (including envelope and protective cardboard) for First Class Mail.
