For more information regarding book's condition- check provided images or ask us Item's Code: XR-3870ABOUT: This publication is devoted to the ornamentation of books of the Moscow press, starting from the middle of the 16th century, i.e. from the beginning of Moscow book printing, to the 1670s. The whole ornament is made in the technique of engraving on wood. The work was carried out based on the materials of the State Library named after V. I. Lenin. In those few cases when a missing or defective book deprived the published album of the completeness of the selected decorations, one had to turn to other libraries for pictures. In this way, an almost exhaustive completeness of the selection of ornaments has been achieved. Antonina Sergeevna Zernova (1883-1964) was a Russian book historian and bibliographer.-------------------------------------------------- Настоящее издание посвящено орнаментике книг московской печати, начиная от середины XVI в., т. е. от начала московского книгопечатания, до 1670-х годов. Весь орнамент выполнен в технике гравюры на дереве. Работа производилась по материалам Государственной библиотеки имени В. И. Ленина. В тех немногочисленных случаях, когда недостающая или дефектная книга лишала издаваемый альбом полноты подбираемых украшений, приходилось обращаться за снимками в другие библиотеки. Таким образом достигнута почти исчерпывающая полнота подбора орнамента.
